- DRUM LAMP SHADE PENDANTS: these are large shades and they come in a variety of colors. The materials you can find them in are many, including fiberglass parchment, moire, aluminum mesh, broad cloth, organic rush grass, duratrans, organza etc. These shades can also be made with material that is customer supplied mixed with styrene.

You can choose anything starting from a tiered design to a flared design. You have plenty of options available. These shades give your rooms a young and a vibrant look. You can fix them to create a party ambiance with colored light effects. You can play some cool numbers that will go perfectly with the ambiance.

- RAWHIDE LAMP SHADES: with rawhide shades, you can set up a western look for your rooms. The colors in which these shades come are pleasant and sober. When the lights are turned on, an effect of the colors of the earth is emitted. These shades look amazing when placed in a room full of wooden furniture.

You can accessorize the room with wooden log ladders or kiva style ladders. Rawhide shades blend with the wooden furniture to create a Native American feel. You can make the whole ambiance even more beautiful by adding some rustic accessories such as Indian blanket, and drums from South Western America.

The dyed rawhide replacement lamp shades help you to create the same old western look in your home. These are hand made shades and each one is unique. The shades are colored first, and then bleached to make the color light. Then they are again colored to get the finished look.

The entire process that is followed produces a beautiful tint on these shades that is unmatched. When you light these, you will observe a beautiful grain pattern of light.

Rawhide shades are available in many renowned stores. You can even shop online. You can get the wooden ladders and other accessories in the stores which sell rustic items.

Lamp Shades - Different Styles

!±8± Lamp Shades - Different Styles

Lamp shades are basically of three types and can be made to suit a number different styles and tastes. The types are hardback, silk and parchment. Each of the types can be styled in different ways, according to one's taste. They can come in different shapes and sizes to fit almost every kind of lamp and make good use of the space allotted to them in your room. Following are the details about each of the lamp shades:

Hardback

These are created with the help of materials like paper and fabric laminated onto styrene. Styrene, a liner made of plastic, is located on the inner part of the shade. Another important component of this type of shade is a wire ring that circles both the openings of the lamp. The top wire usually contains a washer for fitting the shade over the lamp. The material of the shade, laminated on styrene, is glued to both the rings.

Parchment

The construction of this type of shade is quite similar to the hardback variety. The only major difference is that these shades do not use styrene. Even though the name of this variety indicates that they are made exclusively of parchment paper, it is not the case. The material used maybe different kinds of papers or fabrics. An advantage over the hardback type is that there is more room for customization. Hence, a number of different designs and paint finishes that can be applied.

Silk

These shades, like the parchment ones, are not necessarily always made from silk. Cotton, linen and certain blends of fabrics, other than silk of course, can be used for making this kind of shades. The shades are constructed on a wire frame by placing a fabric lining along the inside of the frame and then stretching other piece across the outer portion. The top and bottom rings are connected using the wire frame. Due to its unique construction shapes such as scallops, curves and notches can be made.
